Business 2.0 agrees with our assessment.
Business 2.0 just release their annual
101 Dumbest Moments in Business feature. But, the Go-Daddy commercial did not make the list. In fact, this commercial was singled out as a winner in the
Smart List for the year.
Business 2.0 acknowledges that the controversy surrounding the ad dramatically boosted traffic to their website. And as a result, Go-Daddy overtook Network Solutions to become the Web's leading domain-name registrar. Aha—so maybe it is true: there is no such thing as bad publicity.
