
Okay, folks—you learn something new everyday. And today, Marketing Blurb learned that--according to an unsubstantiated source--there are more Super Bowl parties than New Year’s Eve parties. And after the Big Game, some 1.4 million adults call in sick to the office the following day. ![]()
As such, White Castle is launching a promotion to create DA Day, or the Day After the Big Game. Their angle is simple: Play Sunday. Rest Monday. Why go in when you can sleep in? This ingenious promotion is supported by a website, where you can read a list of common day after excuses, and where you can sign a petition to create the official DA Day holiday.
Marketing Blurb applauds this approach, which is certainly less costly than advertising during the Big Game. (Sadly, however, we have never eaten one of the famous sliders, and intend to keep our record clean.) Go White Castle!
