In the interests of international diplomacy, Marketing Blurb believes readers will be
interested to learn Czechs believe there is too much adverting on their private (not state-run) television networks. According to a survey by Factum Invenio, 80% of respondents said advertising is "excessive” on the popular TV Nova. 60% said the same for TV Prima, and 50% for public broadcaster Czech Television.
In other venues, Czechs believe radio, print, billboards and posters have an appropriate “proportion” of advertising. And surprisingly to Western observers, almost 40% of the respondents said adverting for tobacco products should be banned completely. Almost 25% would ban ads for alcohol. (This seems unusual for a society than indulges in tobacco and alcohol with gusto challenging the West. ) Media Daily News brought this to our attention, but you can read the source article from the Prague Monitor.
