Invite a half-dozen marketing pundits for drinks one night, and ask them to name the
most powerful international brand. Sure, you’ll hear Coke, Nike, and newcomers Google and Starbucks. But our choice purrs—Hello Kitty, the monster Japanese brand from Sanrio of Tokyo. Hello Kitty is toys, jewelry, fashion, accessories, electronics, cosmetics, and more. The brand includes 50,000 items sold in 60 countries.
And according to worldwide news agency AFP, Sanrio is about to launch the Hello Kitty global TV series to air in 15 countries. The animated series will feature Hello Kitty, red-hooded bunny My Melody and the mischievous penguin Bad Badtz-Maru. This will be huge and monster cute.
