Marketing Blurb loves glamour as much as the next pundit. But we’re usually just too
busy to pay much attention to the designer fashion scene, until celebrities grab the headlines. This time it is the Olsen twins, who although they exceeded their fifteen minutes of fame five years ago, are back in the news, with a glamorous photo shoot for designer Badgley Mischka. Advertising photo spreads of the twins will appear in April issues of
Vogue, Elle, InStyle and
Vanity Fair magazines. The Olsen campaign will also appear in stores and on the Internet, to “reflect the younger, edgier and more sensual glamour that we have incorporated in our latest fall collection.” Of course, Mary-Kate Olsen was singled out by fashion critic Mr. Blackwell for his 46th annual “Worst Dressed” list. He called her clothes “bag lady rags” and “depressingly decayed.” Hey,
Marketing Blurb will leave the fashion critique to the experts either way. But be honest, don’t these girls look somewhat wasted? How about a milk shake and a good night’s sleep, girls?
