The past few months have been kind to sports fans and advertisers. First, we all
enjoyed the Super Bowl (the game, not the inane commercials.) Next, we’ve seen Olympic glory peppered with advertising from our dying auto industry. And, we just thrilled to the Daytona 500. Don’t forget that The Kentucky Derby is waiting in the wings, although Pamela Anderson has promised to boycott.
But sorry, folks—the real sports action these days is cricket. The governing body for cricket in India just sold four-year television right for $ 612 million. These rights do not include mobile, and IPTV which are expected to garner another $ 50 million. Content Sutra (isn’t that clever?) has more. Photo Credit: BBC Sports
