It used to be easy to look down your nose at wine in boxes. After all, would a real man romance a woman with wine from a box? (Of course, if you read Marketing Blurb on a regular basis, you would understand that a real man would let the woman select the wine in the first place.) But that said, Constellation Brands is about to boost their advertising budget for Black Box --upscale wine in a box. The sleek three-liter box holds the equivalent of four standard wine bottles. But unlike standard wine bottles, the airtight liner keeps the wine fresh for up to four weeks. According to AC Nielsen, sales of boxed wine grew by almost 12% last year to capture about 5.7% of the $6.8 billion market for U.S. table wine.
