But rather than lecture our readers, we decided to let you know that according to Beverage Digest, carbonated soft drinks experienced a volume decline in 2005, the first such decline in two decades! All-channel volume fell by 0.2% last year. Because of increased interest of health and diet, the beverage analyst at Morgan Stanley & Company expects the decline to continue at about 1% for the next few years. Per capita consumption dropped from 837 servings to 828 servings last year. (If you are drinking 837 or 828 sodas a year, you are probably already dead!)
