The National Association of Attorneys General just announced that US cigarette sales are at their lowest volume since 1951. Overall, cigarette sales are down about 21% since the 1998 tobacco Master Settlement Agreement, which imposed new restrictions on cigarette advertising and marketing. Even with this decrease, our nation puffed about 378 billion cigarettes last year. Breathe a sigh of relief—just be careful when you can inhale.
