If you are a disenchanted auto worker, we feel your pain. But it could be worse, you could work in the airline industry. Fortunately, there are a few bright spots, including JetBlue’s new mixed media campaign. The campaign features traditional television and print appeals, but also includes novel point-of-sale. For example, the airline is placing boxes of free airline snack food labeled Help Yourself in public places in New York. Next month, the airline will set-up “story booths” in eight cities where passengers can record recollections of flying JetBlue. The campaign also includes postcards in airline seat pockets. While we are not keen on free food in public places, Marketing Blurb wonders why no airline (to our knowledge) has tried the postcard approach.
