Back in the spring of 2004, Starbucks launched a line of specialty coffees called the Black Apron Line, or BAE.  These were the beans for hard-to-fine brews from small producers all over the world. Starbucks supported these small growers from Hawaii, Ethiopia, and Kenya with $ 15,000 grants to improve their harvesting and communities. Starbucks just announced their newest bean in the BAE, Rwanda Blue Bourbon. Optimistically, the market for this bean will help growers in this war-torn country improve their lives. Marketing Blurb has not yet tasted Rwanda Blue Bourbon, but on the strength of the name alone, we are ready for a second cup. Photo Credit: Associated Press
