Here we go again with mobile marketing madness that makes us shiver. ABC has already announced it will sell episodes of popular TV shows at $ 1.99 each for download and playback on the Apple iPod. These shows are available free as
broadcast television, naturally, and viewable on a screen you can actually see. Well, market research firm Magid Associates decided to investigate if iPod users would be willing to watch a 30-commercial, if the advertiser paid for the show download. iPod owners said, yes (duh.) "It appears that the option to download content of choice for free will dramatically increase interest in purchasing a video iPod, thus potentially increasing video iPod sales and penetration," says the study.
