Marketing Blurb loves tennis. We even used to play until our son could trounce us so savagely we decided to retire. So we watch the game instead, and we’re dazzled by
today’s talented players. So we were amused to learn that Adidas is suing the four Grand Slam tournaments and the International Tennis Federation in a dispute of the size of their logo. It seems that Wimbledon restricts logos to four square inches, and players wearing Adidas dudes are in violation of this standard. While technically not the complete logo, the distinctive three stripes from the logo on tops and shorts exceed the 4 square inch limitation.
Marketing Blurb believes Adidas is entitled to design their clothing as they see fit. Players who are paid to endorse these brands have more important issues to think about. And finally—fans are watching the damned ball the players, not the logos.
