Marketing Blurb has this very simple relationship with our cell phone. We take calls and we make calls. We do not listen to music, take pictures, watch video, text message, or download anything. No, we are not techno phobic or behind the times. We just have superior devices for each of those other functions. When our cell phone rings, we answer. We do not dance or sing along to a ringtone. So we are clearly not the target market for a new promotion by Pepsi whereby Mariah Carey is writing and producing 20 original voice and music ringtones for release this summer. The promotion also includes Motorola phones, and Mariah will presumably croon in television commercials promoting the phones and toxic soda. Mariah, we love you. We love your music.
