Marketing Blurb loves media more than the next pundit. Without online media, we
would be not be able to publish this dandy blog. But not all media is created equal or benign. According to a series of studies cited by the Kansas City Star, constant exposure to media may be harmful to individual, especially children. Staff writer Alan Barley says : "This week, the medical community is releasing a stack of studies linking TV and video games to a host of modern ills among America’s youth, including obesity, sexual activity, consumerism and antisocial behavior.” Those children who watch more television ask their parents for more items they’ve seen advertised. And as you might expect, the more time school-aged children spend watching television, the more calories they consume, largely from their favorite food groups of potato chips, pop, candies, and cookies. The moral of the story is simple. Turn off the tube, folks. The Kansas City Star has more, but we couldn’t get the link to resolve.
