Steps Across America, a fitness awareness program. The program will track the progress of 12 people who are walking across America promoting walking and fitness. Kristi Yamaguchi is the celebrity spokesperson, and her smile alone covers the route from San Diego to Vegas. Participants are posting web diaries, naturally, and there is a route map on the site as well. Photos are coming soon. Wal-Mart has a semi-truck outfitted to follow and support the team. Sponsors get to tout the health benefits of their products on the event website., and hey--even PayDay has an protein energy bar.
