You knew this had to happen sometime. With school systems strapped for cash, why not sell advertising on school buses? We can think of dozens of reasons why this is
not a good idea, but two towns in Michigan are not asking
Marketing Blurb. Rather, these towns are contracting with InSight Media of Pittsburgh to include advertising on 500 school bases by fall. Other school districts, including Detroit, are considering approving this new advertising venue. Parents have mixed feelings, naturally. Some are protesting the move. (Those are the ones who will not approve school tax levies.) Other parents insist the ads be limited to wholesome messages. (Who are they kidding?) We wish we could attend the PTA meeting on this topic.

Interesting topic. Lots of school districts in AZ have recently begun accepting school bus advertising. The reaction from some has been visceral. I don't see it as much of an offense - the ads that I've seen have been for everyday businesses with appropriate messages. But, since this is a growing field, there are MANY voices and opinions yet to be heard.
