Advertisers Discover Social Networking
Marketing Blurb has resisted talking much about social networking. (If you must know mycoke.jpgmore, visit The eStrategyOne Buzz.) But sites like MySpace and Facebook are about to take over the world. These sites are filled with sketchy consumer-generated content, and as such, traditional advertisers are leery of advertising there. But since social networking is huge, advertisers have decided to create their own brand sites, where brand enthusiasts can talk about themselves. USA Today says “Marketers are creating Web destinations where people can leave postings about themselves and the brands — and leave e-mail addresses companies can use for communications.” Marketing Blurb thinks this is a good idea—time will tell. Visit these sample sites, mycoke.com, and joga.com, Kodak.com, and yourpointofview.com.
