Back in January, we told you that Anheuser-Busch decided that members of the Beer Institute should join together in a campaign to improve the image of beer drinkers. (The problem was perceived to be wine and women, both of which are more sophisticated and desirable than beer.) Of course the real problem is beer advertising which portrays beer drinkers as dimwits. Anheuser-Busch dubbed their campaign Here’s to Beer. Well, according to the Associated Press, AB shopped the idea around the industry, and their competitors decided not to participate! At issue is whether or not participate would help all participants or just AB. No matter, Anheuser-Busch decided to launch the campaign on their own. And yes, the Here’s to Beer website is now open for business.
