Marketing Blurb is not a theatre critic. We love Broadway, but don’t visit the Great White Way much anymore. But because we are always interested in following the marketing exploits of entertainment giant Disney, we decided to find out what the critics are saying about their new musical Tarzan. Disney hopes the famed man of the jungle will match their hit musicals based on The Lion King and Beauty and the Beast.  Reuters claims the budget for this Broadway musical is $ 15 to $ 20 million. Ben Brantley from The New York Times said, "'Tarzan' feels as fidgety and attention-deficient as the toddlers who kept straying from their seats during the performance I saw.”  Our friends at the New York Post titled their review Bungle in the Jungle and open with the words “You, Tarzan, Me, Agonized.”  But look at it this way, now that Michael Eisner is gone, shareholders deserve a swinging good time.  Photo Credit: Reuters
