Marketing Blurb is obviously behind the times when it comes to gaming. We just reported that Cadillac product placements will appear on the Microsoft Xbox360 online gaming channel. But what we didn’t know is that the drivers are 33 years old. Or at least according to the ESA, the Entertainment Software Association trade group. In their detailed annual demographic report of 1700 representative households, ESA claims the average gamer is 33 years old. This age keeps creeping up—presumably because Peter Pan still can’t find a real job. 38% of these gamers are women—stable with the last report. Dan Ackerman at CNet sounds skeptical, and we are, too.
