print catalog in favor of online sales. We knew then that other catalogers would follow suit. JC Penney is not suspending their print catalog, but at the annual ACCM Catalog Conference, a company official announced that the retail giant would focus on online rather than catalog sales. It seems that their online sales are growing at 23% per year, while print sales are at 10% growth and falling every year. As such, JC Penney will reduce category circulation in an effort to maximize the sales mix. Catalog industry pundits are debating the merits of the move, but Marketing Blurb believes the print JC Penney’s catalog is history.
