It has been almost four years ago now that we talked about metrosexuals to our
marketing students. The term was fresh back then (and trendier, too) and we though it would prove useful in a discussion of psychographics and product development. Well, the press dropped the term, and we are surprised to see it surface again in
Business Week. But according to their article, the market for male grooming and skincare products energized by the metrosexual movement is booming. Sales dollars for these products increased by 49% in 2005. Popular products include anti-aging eye-creams, shower gels and formula facial cleansers all formulated for men.
