Boomers love coffee, but it seems that an estimated 35 to 40 million Americans have
reduced the amount of coffee they drink due to stomach irritation. Fortunately, Procter & Gamble is introducing a new blend of coffee called
Folgers Simply Smooth to help these people enjoy “the return of the second cup.” The coffee still packs the caffeine that Boomers crave, but a proprietary roasting process makes the brew easier on the stomach. Despite the popularity of Starbucks and other gourmet options, the number of adults drinking coffee daily is declining, and P&G sales of Folgers are sustained only by price increases. While we are not keen on Folgers in any formulation, Marketing Blurb thinks this concept is a fine idea, and we wish P&G success.
