If you are old enough to remember The Mutual of Omaha Wild Kingdom show on television, you are probably too old to read this blog. But that aside, Mutual of Omaha has decided to resuscitate the program from the 1960s and 1970s with a road show to 11 markets from June through October. A fleet of trailers is hauling enough gear to erect a 75 square foot replica of three habitats—a rainforest, African savanna, and the polar ice cap. While the basic idea of a road show seems to have merit, we are less enthusiastic after visiting their website to see photos of the creepy animatronic animals for each habitat. There is even a stuffed Marlin Perkins (the original host of the program) which we think is disconcerting as well. Still, we wish Mutual of Omaha good luck with the venture.
