Marketing Blurb keeps a low media profile, and as such, we thankfully miss an overdose of celebrity nonsense. But even with out reading-centric entertainment habits, we can’t seem to avoid Tom Cruise and his girlfriend what’s her name, and their child what’s it name? So we know that Tom is also starring the third installment of the Mission Impossible movies. But we didn’t know, until Mercury News alerted us, that a promotion for the movie turned explosively bad. It seems that someone outfitted LA newspaper vending racks with portable music boxes set to play the Mission Impossible theme when someone purchased and removed a paper. But some of these red plastic players jarred lose, and a consumer who feared a bomb called police.  LA police arrived and detonated the suspicious news box. Mercury News has details, because we could never invent a story like this.
