Dear Mr Chairman Rolf Schmidt-Holtz,
Sony BMG Music Entertainment
Chairman Rolf Schmidt-Holtz,
550 Madison Ave. New York, NY 10022-3211
United States of America
On February 16th, 2007, I was fortunate enough to attend a wonderful Shakira
concert in Paris, France -- The name of the tour is Oral Fixation. Shakira
could not have performed better than she did during this concert in Paris,
the most beautiful, glamorous, famous and romantic city in the entire
history of the world.
It seems ludicrous to me and to all the citizens of France that
Shakira’s Paris concert tour was so poorly conceived, orchestrated,
marketed and promoted ! We French were horribly frustrated that such a
incredibly talented, lovely and beautiful lady was treated so shabbily and
poorly in the world’s most glamorous, famous and most beautiful city
by her promoters, which, shamefully, includes Sony Music France (EMI) !
For instance, the Germans gave Shakira nine (1) concerts which were all sold out.
Why do we French allow the Germans, the Americans, and the Spanish to out do and out class us ?
In Spain, Shakira has already had a dozen (2) concerts and will have three extra concerts by the end of her tour next month.
Now, as you well know, Shakira is also the Ambassador to UNICEF, as well as the head of the foundation for homeless children in South America, Pies Descalzos, which is sponsored by the Spanish Seat Automobile Manufacturing Company accordingly to the "Catch The Fever campaign".
Furthermore, it is extremely ridiculous that all over Europe people send SMS messages to make donations to the Pies Descalzos Foundation – but NOT here in France, which is a national shame to us who are French.
We French demand that this shameful and disgusting situation be immediately corrected !
We also demand at least one more concert before her marvelous tour is over. Vive La France !! Vive Shakira !!
