In Dallas, 7-Eleven uses the Aberdeen and Hoquiam Police Departments to distribute Slurpee coupons to kids over the summer. The program, called Operation Chill, dates back to 1996. Officers watch for youth who are engaged in something useful or helpful in the community, and ticket them with Slurpee coupon awards. "7-Eleven is a leader in crime prevention, and we're very proud of the success of this program," said Ron Conlin, the chain's loss prevention manager. "Last year, a million free Slurpee coupons were distributed across the country through Operation Chill. That's a great deal of positive behavior."
