According to the Promotional Products Association International, companies increased their spending for promotional items 4% over last year, while other forms of advertising only increased by an average of 3%. Recipients of promotion items generally keep them around--achieving the marketers desired goal of brand exposure. iPod covers are the new hot promotional item, like mugs and Post-it-Note pads, tattoos, umbrellas and jar openers are popular as well.
