Marketing Blurb loves comic superheroes. We are less enchanted by their movie
make-overs, and fear the big screen may soon suffer from an overdose of caped characters. But the next superhero waiting in the wings is sans cape, and comes in a can. Paramount Pictures and Marvel Entertainment just announced a live action movie based on the
Iron Man character for a spring 2008 release. So far, the lead role is un-cast. Director Jon Favreau said he wants "someone with experience but a low profile. Stars bring too much baggage with them." According to
Variety, Marvel is staging future licensing options to include
Captain America in 2009, followed by
Thor, and
Nick Fury. With this many superheroes waiting in the wings, you think our universe would be safe already.
