On the television station, the shows are sponsored, but online, Disney is offering pre-roll spots and fixed display advertising. Think of this as a double-dip adverting opportunity. Disney Resorts and Sony have committed at this stage. Kids can create video play lists of the programs, and email them to their friends. This new broadband offering will help Disney be more competitive with similar efforts by Nickelodeon and the Cartoon Network. The interface needs work—it took Marketing Blurb about 68 clicks to reach the actual programs. We agree this is a promising way to reach wired kids, but we hope those kids are enjoying fresh air and sunshine.
