Hilton Hotels Corp. is concerned about their aging guest demographic. As such, the chain has decided to sponsor
2006 AVP Pro Beach Volleyball Tour, which decided attracts a younger crowd than the aging business travels we saw at Hilton last time. "We looked at AVP participation as a way to put our brand in front of a younger demographic," said Mary Beth Parks, VP-marketing, Hilton. "Through connection with this sport...we'll be able to communicate our core brand message." We are not exactly sure what core brand message Hilton intends to communicate, but during the tournament, the hotelier will host celebrities, AVP sponsors and promoters in a Hospitality Tent with free beverages and a buffet station.
