But Twinings Black Tea, a product of Associated British Foods since 1935, was brewing back in 1706, and still satisfies today. But sales of so-called standard black tea are decreasing in the UK, so Twinings has decided to branch out with specialty blends. Yes, one blend is white tea, which is white hot worldwide, and fruit tea. The company hopes to persuade serious tea drinkers to select one brew for breakfast, and others for tea time and still others for special occasions. (Consider this as wine positioning for tea.)
