Okay, first our confession. We love beer and much as the next pundit, and as such, never touch anything brewed by Anheuser-Busch. Our grievance is simple—their advertising is usually as tasteless as their beer. Now don’t get us wrong, Bud has been know to use humor to great effect—but their default mode is to make men look stupid and to reduce women to sex objects. The latest example is the Steve and Roommate commercials which feature a primitive tribesman named Zagar decked out with a loincloth, face paint, spear and blowgun. Zagar manages to humiliate himself, primitive cultures, and all of mankind with ridiculous slapstick pratfalls in his attempt to adapt to mainstream Gen Y society. Of course, his redeeming value is simple—he likes Bud Light. You can view these commercials at a promotion website called www.zagarandsteve.com.
