Now you might think that an ATM machine is not the ideal vehicle to dispense tickets to
the US Open Tennis Tournament, and you would be wrong, naturally. Chase bank has decided to distribute more than 5,000 free tickets to the US Open, (held in New York) via 1,789 ATMs in the New York area. Okay, so the ATMs do not really dispense the
tickets. But if your transaction receipt includes a blue tennis ball printed on the back, you are a ticket winner. This is the first time a bank has used an ATM for a sweepstakes, but as you might expect, Chase is an official sponsor of the US Open. Oh, and if you not inclined to gamble with Chase ATMs, you can also open a new account with a $500 minimum deposit or put $10,000 in new money into an existing account to score free tickets.
Marketing Blurb thinks this is a clever idea, although we still prefer that humans count and distribute our cash.
