Now you might think that a spicy chicken sandwich on the McDonald’s menu is a great idea, and you would be wrong, naturally. McDonald’s thought it was a fine idea, too—because rival Wendy’s launched their spicy chicken sandwich first. But according to The Wall Street Journal (paid subscription required,) McDonald’s is chopping the sandwich from their menu after less than six months of lackluster sales. McDonald’s said their Hot’n’Spicy McChicken sandwich was their spiciest item ever when introduced in 13,700 restaurants in January. But the sandwich quickly failed to meet expectations. McDonald’s Chicken fans should not panic, the clown is replacing Hot’n’Spicy McChicken with snack wraps -- chicken, cheese and other ingredients wrapped in a tortilla. Marketing Blurb says we cannot miss what we never eat.
