Marketing Blurb is amazed with the palace intrigue surrounding the Gillette Fusion Shaving System. First, folks—shaving is not a system. Shaving is a mundane chore. You can add as many blades as you like, use what ever gel, foam or lubricant you choose, and the job remains mundane. The whole secret of successful shaving is not the experience, but rather finishing the experience to get on with your life. But the folks at Procter & Gamble know more about shaving that we do, and they are the ones who decided to purchase Gillette for $ 57 billion dollars. They are other skeptics, certainly, because P&G stock dropped after the Gillette acquisition, and growth has slowed. But P&G is trying to reassure everyone that the Fusion shaving system is on track to reach $ 1 billion in global sales within two years. Marketing Blurb wishes P&G well, but we discovered in side-by-side tests, that cheaper razors (not systems) work just as well. Oh, and the damned stubble is back by dusk anyway.
