Don’t go back to school this fall if you don’t have “the look.”
Marketing Blurb has no
idea what that fashion must be, but JC Penney believes they know. This weekend, the company is launching a new web-heavy campaign called “You’ve Got it Inside,” targeting students. The effort centers around a website called
jcpenneybts.com where visiting teens will encounter a multimedia rich environment where nine online teens showcase their personal style. Hint: They wear JC Penney clothes. Each teen has a unique personality, and you can visit their rooms, read their cell phone text messages, and so on.
Marketing Blurb visited the site, and we think JC Penney is trying too hard. The music is on target, but these teens are far too plastic, suburban, and white. Yes, there are minorities, but no dweebs. We learned about this from

Hey Folks, I found a really good deal today.
You guys all know million dollar homepage, Right? That guy literally sold 1pixel for a buck and he made 1 million dollar goal. That was something amazing. But today I found better deal. They are selling "ad Cubes". It looks like cube.
