If you want to sponsor a new television reality show, you might as well do it up right. As
such Macy’s decided to make itself the subject of a reality television program called
Unwrapping Macy’s. The show will offer a behind-the-scenes look at how Macy’s operates, selects merchandise, and hosts events like their annual Thanksgiving Day parade. The show will be broadcast on the Women Entertainment Network beginning on September 30th. There are eight 30 minutes episodes already in production. According to
The New York Times (free registration required,) producer Steven Weinstock says “life at Macy’s was “inherently dramatic,” because of creative conflicts between staff members and the deadline pressure of each passing fashion season.” The show will be upbeat and concentrate on the daily lives of employees.
