Marketing Blurb does not smoke, and we prefer smoke-free public spaces. But we are not an anti-smoking zealot because we realize we are surrounded by people destroying their bodies with all kinds of substances. So we are indifferent in reporting that Philip Morris is testing a new smokeless, spitless tobacco called Taboka. The product is intended to provide an alternative product for smokers who cannot smoke in restaurants and other public venues. Taboka is a single-serve disposable pouch placed between cheek and gums. Each pouch lasts about twice as long as a cigarette. Philip Morris will not advertise the product in print, but use direct mail to target known Indianapolis-area smokers from their database. We could not find a photo and do not know if the logo pictured here is authentic. We learned about this from Promo magazine.
