RadioShack Finds Satisfaction with The Stones
Times have really changed. Once the bad boys of rock and roll, the Rolling Stones are radio_shack.jpgabout to become a spokes band for RadioShack. The struggling electronics retailer is counting on Mick and the boys to pitch their entry into LCD television sales. Beginning September, RadioShack will stock LCD TVs from Panasonic, LG and Akai in 6,000 stores. And here’s the good news, floor models in those stores will air high-definition footage of former Stones performances. “The music and the energy that the Stones bring to the fourth quarter is very important to us. It’s a critical selling season,” said RadioShack vice president of marketing Kieran Hannon. Marketing Blurb believes this approach should work, because we know that LCD sales at RadioShack already passed a test market with flying colors without the Stones last year. Of course, Mick will look mighty old on the big screen! Brandweek told us this rocking news. Photo Credit: RadioShack
