By now, you’ve probably stumbled across the Share your Secret campaign sponsored by Procter & Gamble’s Secret Deodorant. In celebration of the 50 year anniversary of the product, women can spill their guts in public—okay, share their secrets online. Here’s the deal—women log on to the ShareYourSecret.com website and post their secret. P&G only wants first names, and contributors write a story up to 800 words explaining the history of their—well—confession. Samples include: "I'm in love with my best friend," "I cheated on my high school entrance exam," "My fiancé thinks I'm eight years younger" and "I've never been kissed," and so on. The confession ties in with the promotion theme “Celebrating 50 Years of Strong Women—it takes a strong woman to share a secret." Fortunately, these secrets have more value than catharsis. For each secret shared through October 31st, Secret will donate $ 1 (up to a total of $ 150,000) to Dress for Success, and organization which helps disadvantages women transition into the workforce. Oh, and did we mention, there are confession kiosks in Time Square? You can enter your confession, and see is roll in lights on the Reuters and Nasdaq news tickers. Fun, huh?
