It seems that no matter where we chose to stay in Manhattan, the hotel is under renovation. And if not the hotel, the building next door. The placement deals are often cut directly with landlords without the necessary permit and participation of a licensed outdoor signage company. But according to the New York Department of Buildings, the city is preparing to clamp down on illegal signage.
