Marketing Blurb used to love Florida as much as the next pundit. But that was during the 1980s, a complete decade of relatively benign weather. These days, we have seen enough hurricane news to convince us we are never retiring to Florida (even central Florida.) But we agree Floridians are entitled to champion their sunshine, sand, or whatever. And as it turns out, a number of small Florida towns are beginning to tout
their civic pride with diverse branding efforts. According to
The Miami Herald, the town of Davie redesigned the city logo and fashioned logo belt buckets for sale at City Hall. Dania Beach purchase radio spots on the local affiliate of National Public Radio, and distributed bumper stickers with their motto “Historic yet undiscovered.” We are not exactly sure what that slogan means, but wish Davie, Dania Beach and other Florida towns well with their branding efforts. We are going to stay in central Ohio for the winter, because we love our fireplace. Oh, and tornado season will be over then, too.
