If we were running for political office, we would make time to hunt and fish. So we are left instead with watching the outdoor-living show debuting this September called “Gander Mountain Lodge,” which as you know, is the name of a hunting and fishing merchant. But here’s the deal. According to
Advertising Age (free registration required) viewers of this show will be able to order products on demand from their remote. During the broadcast by Turner Media Group, onscreen prompts will allow viewers to snag that rod or reel, sleeping bag, and other outdoor products. (We are unsure if this applies to hunting rifles.) If your remote is hidden under a couch cushion, you can still order by phone and the web, naturally. We think this is a fine idea, and we still wonder if you can bag a shot gun with your remote.
