Now you might think that Destination Mplanet is the name of a grade B science fiction movie from the 1950s, but you would be wrong, naturally. Mplanet is actually the name for an industry event sponsored by the American Marketing Association in partnership with McKinsey & Company, The Wharton School, and SpencerStuart. Scheduled for November 29 – December 1, 2006, at Walt Disney World, Mplanet “is the only event to bring together marketing executives, industry luminaries, respected researchers and top academics to engage in a dialogue about the changing dynamics of marketing.” Our local chapter of the AMA is plugging the event, but a tip from Know More Media staffer, Kimberlee Morrison, prompted us to investigate the confab more thoroughly. We are delighted by the conference website at www.mplanet2006.com, which provides the rundown for prospective attendees, exhibitors, sponsors and the press with an entertaining animated format.
