Marketing Blurb is not an eco-pundit, but we do know that the fate of our planet depends upon the half-life of disposable diapers. From what we understand, the first disposable diapers were marketed in 1950. Core samples from random landfills indicate that those diapers are still intact, some 56 years later. Some environmentalists predict that disposable diapers in landfills will last as long as nuclear waste in a Nevada underground salt dome. But that prediction aside, we learned from Brandweek, that Kimberly-Clark just unveiled their next generation of disposable diapers called Huggies Supreme Gentle Care and Natural Fit. There are considered super premium diapers which exceed the softness and absorbency of their current Huggies Supreme line of diapers. Oh, and Kimberly-Clark has already licensed Disney characters to appear on the diapers. This means of course that some Mickey Mouse diaper would long outlive the human race. We often wonder what alien archeologists will think of our landfills.
