Research Center for People and the Press, fewer than 25% of adults surveyed believe what they see on television news programs. NBC has the best credibility—assuming you consider 23% a promising number. Only 22% of viewers believe ABC and CBS news are credible. These numbers are down from about 30% in 1998. Cable news networks were deemed 42% credible in 1998 but dropped to 28% in the recent survey. So here’s the deal.
