Playboy has decided to license their brand to a second offshore online
gambling venture called Oceania Caribe. ”One of the things that online gaming doesn't have much of is brand,'' said Sue Schneider, publisher of IGaming News, an online gambling industry newsletter.
Playboy would have “pretty good brand presence outside the US,'' Schneider said to
Mercury News. This online strategy is consistent with
Playboy’s recent strategy to license their brand to US casinos, where legal gambling offers superior margins to the publisher. Oh, and if you want to legally get in on this action—try the stock market, where
Playboy shares increased on news of the licensing deal.
