Now you might think that one-to-one marketing is a great idea, and in the case of Quiznos, you would be wrong, naturally! Quiznos tried such a promotion via chats rooms and IM. Here’s the pitch. Quiznos meets a prospect one-to-one online, and invites them to a nearby train station where a company official escorts them to the nearest Quiznos to sample the company’s Classic Italian or Double BLT. If you think this sounds like innocent fun—think again. Scott Lippitt, the 47 year old vice president of marketing offered this deal to a 13 year old girl. The Englewood CO police were not inclined to believe the marketing pitch for this encounter, and arrested Lippitt on five felonies including “criminal attempt at sexual assault on a child; enticement of a child; contributing to the delinquency of a minor; Internet luring; and Internet sexual sexual exploitation of a child.”  Lippitt was released after posting a $ 250,000 bond.
